Paramount Dance 420 SS Blade

The DANCE MODEL offers the same lightweight and stainless steel runner as the MODEL420 but in a profile and width similar to the MK Gold Dance blade. The DANCE MODEL's dance radii, 3mm thick blade, dance toe pick and short heel is perfect for those who want deeper edges, shorter heels, and custom toe-picks for Ice Dance.

5 Times More Accurate
Paramount Blade's hollow and profile is machined with high accuracy. Other companies grind their blades by hand making blades slightly different. Blade tolerances are held to a much higher standard with our CNC machining.

Lighter and Stronger
Paramount Blades are made from a lightweight aircraft aluminum holder with a high quality steel runner. Our unique triangular shaped frame increases strength and stiffness. Due to the lighter weight, skaters using our blades can have higher and longer jumps.

Modern Aerospace Materials
Most skating blades are made from carbon steel (a 16th century technology) then brazed together as separate pieces. The Paramount blade holder is made from a super lightweight one-piece aluminum extrusion (21st century technology) and high-grade stainless steel runner. This high-grade runner is stronger than just carbon steel.

420C (7 elements) and 440C (8 elements) Stainless Steel is much stronger than regular carbon steel blades and will hold an edge much longer between sharpenings. Therefore, blade life is increased dramatically as well as being more durable. 440C Stainless Steel is manufactured at 9 times the cost of carbon steel. However, our blades are not more expensive than leading competitors.

Utilizing advanced materials and manufacturing techniques, they are lighter, stiffer, stronger, and hold an edge better than conventional blades. On top of that, they are made of non-rusting materials, are available in colors, and are strikingly beautiful!

The new blades use a frame that is computer machined from a solid piece of high strength aluminum alloy. Use of this material results in a blade that weighs up to 50 % lighter than a conventional blade. Its unique diamond-shaped cross section provides strength that significantly exceeds conventional blades, as well as superior stiffness, so that the skater's energy goes into their skating, not the blade.

Attached to the frame is a runner made of a high strength and exceptionally durable stainless steel alloy. In addition to resisting rust and other corrosion, this alloy offers superior edge retention. Skaters get 80 hours on the 420SS and 120 hours on the 440SS between sharpenings.

Because both the frame and the blade runner are fabricated using high-precision computer-controlled machining equipment, the skater can be assured that every Paramount blade will be exactly like every other Paramount blade of that model.
